150+ Woodcarving plans

We have created a Google Drive folder containing over 150 plans to carve animals, gnomes, patterns, and whatever else you may need. We will continually update that folder with new plans, and you will have lifetime access to it and all future updates!

How We Carve

DRAW THE SHAPE

We start with drawing the shape that we want to create, in this case a whale. It makes it easier to actually see what creations hide in the wood.

START CARVING

It is important to use sharp tools to cut the wood like if it was butter. Otherwise you'll simply press harder to make a cut, damaging your wood and even have an accident.

THE RESULT

Carving takes time. We listen to music while carving and time flies for us. Once our creation is done we use beeswax as a finish to protect the wood and make the color pop.

Epoxy 101

MIXING EPOXY

Firstly we need to measure the right amount of epoxy and hardener. Faulty ratio will ruin the creations.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT COLOR

After mixing we can choose to let it be crystal clear or add a color pigment. It is important to add the right amount otherwise the chosen color won't be visible enough and the creations will be ruined.

GET THE BUBBLES OUT

Bubbles ar bad. We don't want any of them in our creations as it will lead to it being brittle. To remedy that we need to get all the air that got trapped during the mixing process with a vacuum chamber.

LET'S POUR

We need to go slow. Real slow. Otherwise we will trap air in the epoxy leading to new bubbles forming.
